The Unity of All Things
The Unity of All Things
There has been a recent proliferation of people claiming to act as “channels” for evolved spiritual beings. Conduits through which these masters express themselves for the purpose of sharing advanced knowledge. I am not one of them.My only claim to the title of ascended master is that I have been called that by others. I do not need a title. There are those who teach that the destiny of the faithful is to spend an eternity praising God. God does not need praise. There are those who offer to share their knowledge in exchange for a fee. Knowledge is the birthright of all of creation, it is not a thing to be bartered. You can share you entire lot of it and yet your own store will not be diminished.
While discussing alternate realities, I made the following comment, “You will soon discover that you have not opened the door to an alternate reality, only that you have seen more of the one thing that truly exists in this universe.” It is time to discuss the one thing.
A Ω The One Thing
Modern science has introduced the concept that all matter and energy sprang forth from a point of infinite density. Our universe which spans billions of light years in radius, is home to countless clusters of galaxies with their corresponding galaxies, stars, planetary systems, individual bodies, molecules, atoms and sub atomic particles, is thought to have originated from what is known as a singularity, a zero dimensional point, infinitely small, infinitely dense.
The concept is flawed.
Space, which is a measure of distance, can only exist in the presence of two or more objects. In the absence of a second object, space (distance between objects) ceases to exist. It is not difficult to determine the distance between two points such as point A and point B. If however there is no point B, there can be no relative distance.
Consider a universe in which there is nothing. No matter, no stars, no electrons, nothing. The size of this universe would be equal to its contents, nothing. The only way to visualize this universe as an endless expanse of empty space is to project your consciousness there in which case the universe is not empty.
Therefore, the singularity which gave rise to our present universe, the sum total of all that is, was infinitely large. In the absence of an external reference, the singularity, beyond which nothing was, consumed the entirety of space. The moment of creation therefore was not the birth of energy as currently envisioned, but the creation of empty space, distance, individuality. Into this new world you were born, or should we say, became self aware.
Read the above paragraph again and understand for it has far reaching implications.
Self awareness on a small scale implies individuality. We are self aware beings in a world populated by other self aware beings. This is where matter and consciousness differ. The evolutionary direction of matter is toward its lowest energy state. The evolutionary direction of consciousness is toward its highest energy state. This is not difficult to visualize. In a physical sense, a hot plate will return to room temperature. In a conscious sense, awareness escalates from awareness of self only, to awareness of the local environment and other beings, finally to awareness of the consciousness of all things and ones relationship to it.
We have now framed a dialogue in which we can discuss the reason that we are here and where it is that we are going.
Before progressing, let us dispel the myth that consciousness ceases at the moment of physical death. As stated, the evolutionary direction of energy is toward its lowest energy state. Physical evolution is a thermodynamic contradiction in which energy acquires increasingly complex forms. It can only be sustained when more energy is being pumped into a system (in our case, solar energy) then what that system is capable of producing on its own. In a physical sense, evolution does not require self awareness to exist. Physical evolution is indifferent. There is no evolutionary advantage if the resultant product of random energy exchanges is self aware or not. In fact, the degree of complexity required to achieve a self replicating, self conscious being is only possible if it is being intelligently directed. Remember, physical evolution does not require that its product be conscious, and yet you are.
Pure evolutionists who view our existence as the sole result of random mutation accept it blindly simply because to them the alternative is unacceptable. It is said that faith should not play a role in modern science and yet pure evolution must be accepted on faith. Modern scientific inquiry forbids questioning the theory of evolution except when introducing new hypothesis to make it believable. Biologist and physicist have become the new Pharisees who tolerate no dogma beyond that which they are dispensing. Contrary to popular belief, it is consciousness which influences the evolutionary direction, not the other way around.
When discussing the reason that we are here, I stated that “Nearly all spiritual qualities are shadowed by a physical counterpart.” There are two reasons that we fear physical death. The first would be the dissolution of the physical body with which we identify. Simultaneously however, we recognize that we are not the body. We speak intuitively of our body as a possession when we make statements such as “I have a body”. It is the ego, the self that you brought with you when you came into this world that makes this distinction. This brings us to the second reason that we fear death. It is the potential loss of identity. We acknowledge the truth that consciousness exist apart form the body whenever we speak of our bodies as a possession. Therefore, we know instinctively that consciousness continues beyond physical death. It is something far more subtle that we fear. It is the loss of self to which we cling most dearly. As stated previously, the evolutionary direction of consciousness is toward increasing levels of complexity. This implies that the “self” must ultimately be abandoned to embrace the unified whole. From a low level of understanding, this could be considered the equivalent of death. Your “self”, the unique pattern of energy which separates what is you from what is not you, the quality which defines you as an individual, must be dissolved. This is perhaps the most frightening thing that an individual can face. It is in preparation for this transformation that we occupy physical bodies. It is easy to question the rational of this statement however it is not difficult to explain. Physical beings have a genetic predisposition to reproduce. The drive to propagate and carry on our genes is strong and not easily ignored. To do this successfully implies that nurturing and family bonds be created. An individual, driven by the urge to reproduce, joins with another individual and the two become one. This theme is echoed in the great faiths of the world.
“Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh.” Gen 2:24
While this is recognized as the institution of marriage, it is in reality the dissolution of the two individual selves into one. In this equation, 1 + 1 = One. Do you see now how physical existence prepares us for the next leg in our spiritual journey? The merging of “selves” continues as families, social units, states and countries are created. It is possible to experience a limited sense of this union in other ways. Children and adults acquire pets in order to expand the borders of the self. People become involved in social causes and recognize the needs of others as greater than their own.
“It is more blessed to give than to receive” Acts 20:35
Acts of kindness are considered a virtue because they are “selfless” and love dissolves the barriers between beings. Love is unity itself.
The reason that greed, pride, anger, hatred and the like are considered evil is because they reinforce and give strength to the ego which is contrary to the evolutionary direction of consciousness.
"If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it." Jesus, Luke 9:23-24
Therefore, by ceasing to recognize ourselves as individuals in the physical sense, we are preparing ourselves for the next level in our own spiritual evolution. It is a fascinating synergy which catapults our consciousness toward its ultimate goal, the unity of all things. It is like a river which after thousands of years finally abandons its identity only to discover that it is no longer a river but that it is now the ocean. So it is with the self. We conquer the self not to discover that we are now part of a larger body of consciousness, but that we are the larger body of consciousness.
“speak no ill, do no harm” The Buddha
“Therefore all things whatsoever ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them: for this is the law and the prophets” Jesus, Matthew 7:12
I am what can be labeled a “Christian Mystic” and everything that I have written is based on personal experience and observation. Where applicable I have offered supporting text. The modern church has little use for mysticism and as such I find my role in this present age questionable at best. Though I have experienced dreams and visions, journeyed into non physical realms and feel forever at my heart the tug of the divine, there is nothing that I could reveal which cannot be found for oneself. The Saints and Prophets which have come before have left ample witness if only we open our minds to understanding. If one claims a new doctrine, beware of that person for they seek to enlarge their own ego by subduing yours. If one offers enlightenment in exchange for money, give the money to a worthy cause and seek enlightenment elsewhere. If one claim that you must accept their doctrine or be forever punished in the fires of hell, know that such a person has been deceived and does not know the mind of God.
Our destiny is to move from “self consciousness” to “Christ Consciousness”. To eliminate the space which separates us from God by uniting all things in Christ. When all things become subject to Christ, then will Christ subject Himself to God that all things may be One.
We have returned to a singularity, the Beginning and the End.
There is a veil beyond which I cannot see in this present form. Once the singularity is achieved and God is all in all, I can only speculate on the next event and I will spare you my musings. Suffice it to say however that our journey is like an atom which discovers that it is molecule, which discovers that it is a rain drop which discovers that it is a river, which discovers that it is an ocean which discovers that it is God.
Though I conclude this section with Bible verses that speak with far more power and eloquence than I am capable of, equally compelling text can be found in the scriptures of other faiths as well. They, who by the catalyst of love transform faith into a verb, know that truth is not the possession of a few but the birthright of all.
“In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.” John 1:1-3
“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus. Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God, but made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men. And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross” Philippians 2: 5-8
“That in the dispensation of the fullness of times he might gather together in one all things in Christ, both which are in heaven, and which are on earth; even in him” Ephesians 1:10
“Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be, but we know that, when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is.” 1 John 3:2-3
“And when all things shall be subdued unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subject unto him that put all things under him, that God may be all in all.” 1 Corinthians 15:28
“I am Alpha and the Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.” Revelation 22:13
